The first republican contest was held under the patronage of Launch Company, which is designed for professional skills of the Service Master 2017 in the Automotive Diagnostics category. The Organizer was the “SenSys” engineering center, with which Launch has been successfully cooperating for several years in the field of business education and promotion of innovative technologies.
In the first day, there was entirely devoted to the announcement of the partner companies of the contest, including internet agency “MAXI.BY media”, the largest information portal of Belarus - TUT.BY and LAUNCH. During the contest, 20 participants received the oral instructions from the chairman of the jury and the cards with 30 tasks that should have been done in 60 minutes. To solve it, participants should have demonstrated not only their theoretical knowledge, but also logic and understanding of the essence of process.
According to the results of the testing, after a long and lively discussion, the jury selected the top 10 specialists who proceeded to the final stage of the contest. Theoretical testing showed a high density of close estimates in the area of 13-15 points, which caused certain difficulties in choosing the most worthy candidates. The general knowledge level of the contestants can be considered quite average. As “SenSys” experts says, it may be affected by some nervousness of the exam, but most likely, it reflects the real picture of the lack of basic education in the field of domestic auto diagnostics.
The final part of the competition was held in the next day, which was aimed directly to test the practical skills of the contestants. It was held in a separate pavilion, where the participants were called in turn according to the draw. The finalists received the real form of the order, filled in by the "customer of the car-care center", in which the alleged malfunctions were indicated. All tasks were quite close to the real applications of clients. The diagnosticians were provided with all the necessary tools, including the X-431 PRO 2016 diagnostic scanner.
Mikhail Orekhov said “The task at preparation was to create obvious, but not easy to solve. On the other hand, it should not too complicate owing to time-limited. After several participants had passed, it has become obvious that some diagnosticians were strong in the electrical systems while others in the diagnostics.
An essential factor in the final protocol was a strict time limit of only 20 minutes, which greatly increased the degree of psychological tension. It takes five minutes to find two faults in each car and takes five additional minutes to evaluate the overall strategy for solving the task. With such time pressure, it requires diagnosticians that have basic knowledge, systematic approach, the ability to correctly prioritize and the ability to analyze the situation, which not only based on the experience of previous model solutions, but on their high competence in the functioning of all systems and aggregates of the car, are of great importance.
The winner of the contest was Sergei Bebko from the Soligorsk district. He won the main prize - the diagnostic scanner Launch CRP229. At the awarding ceremony, the sponsors of the contest presented the prizes for all the finalists; Launch presented the most useful tools in the diagnostician's work - various DIY CRP12X Premium and CR9XX-4XX scanners.
